Nick Coulson, partner at Liddle Sheets Coulson P.C. is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on cases with complex legal and factual issues, including class actions, mass torts, and mass arbitrations. Like all of LSC’s lawyers he only represents people, not corporations, insurance companies, banks, or other institutions of power.
Courts throughout the country have appointed Mr. Coulson to represent millions of people in dozens of class actions. He views the class action lawsuit as one of the strongest tools ordinary citizens have against powerful interests. He is proud to have utilized that tool to recover many millions of dollars for his clients, and to improve the lives of those impacted by industrial emissions, contamination, and corporate greed. He has also successfully litigated numerous appeals in class actions in both state and federal courts.
Nick has been appointed as primary, lead, or co-lead class or interim class counsel in class actions involving consumer fraud, securities fraud, and serious environmental contamination. He has litigated class actions in state courts, federal district courts, and federal bankruptcy court. He has successfully litigated class action appeals in state and federal court, obtaining numerous published opinions. His scholarship includes publications on class action and environmental contamination law. Nick is especially proud to prosecute prisoner civil rights litigation through pro bono appointments.
Mr. Coulson graduated from Oakland University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2013. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2013.
